Department of Theriogeniology and Production

The Department of Theriogenology and Production is involved in both the pre-clinical and clinical trainings of undergraduate Veterinary Medical students. The Department is composed of two units namely: theriogenology and animal production units. The Department trains students in andrology, artificial insemination, gyneacology, obstetrics, biotechnology, milk and meat science, animal health and production as well and pasture and rangeland management.

At the postgraduate level, the Department offer courses leading to the award of MSc and PhD both in Theriogenology and Animal Production. The Department is also involved in offering diagnostic services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Polo roundabout in Jos. This includes: clinical evaluation in reproductive, productive and nutritional diseases, as well as breeding soundness examination. We also provide consultancy services to individual and public livestock farms in Plateau State, Nigeria.
