The city of Jos was alive with color, rhythm, and athletic energy on Monday as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos (UNIJOS)

The Management of the University of Jos has received with deep sadness the report of the unfortunate incident involving two students of the University, which tragically resulted in the death of a 300 Level student, of the Department of Banking and Finance, Peter Mafuyai, allegedly murdered by his friend, a 200 Level student of the Department of Agricultural Science, Nanpon Timnan.

Officials of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) have expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations for the 27^th edition of the games, which will be held at the University of Jos from November 6 to 18, 2025.

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda has pledged to support the University of Jos to ensure that Nigerian Students experience the best Nigerian University Games (NUGA)  ever. 

He gave the assurance while receiving the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Tanko Ishaya, who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Tuesday. 

He described NUGA as an important event that should be supported by everyone, promising to do whatever he can to support UNIJOS  to host a memorable and remarkable 27th  edition of NUGA 2025. 

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has taken delivery of solar and electrically powered tricycles donated by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of preparations for the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) 2025 competition, which the institution will host from 6^th to 16^th November 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, has appealed to the Plateau State House of Assembly to intervene and assist the University in addressing some of its major challenges, particularly land encroachment around the University.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, has endorsed Keystone Bank as one of the official financial partners for the forthcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) competition, scheduled to take place at the University of Jos from 6^th to 16^th November, 2025.
