The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has taken delivery of solar and electrically powered tricycles donated by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of preparations for the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) 2025 competition, which the institution will host from 6th to 16th November 2025.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, has appealed to the Plateau State House of Assembly to intervene and assist the University in addressing some of its major challenges, particularly land encroachment around the University.

In a bid to promote youth engagement through sports, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to develop sports infrastructure and improve economy activities across the state.
The governor made this known yesterday while receiving a delegation from Chairman Royal CBS Group Mr Khalifah Onu and his team who are the prime consultant for forthcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) competition.

NUGA 2025: Sports will unite, empower Nigeria – NSC Chairman Dikko

ABUJA – The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to using sports as a tool for national development, youth empowerment, and job creation.
Speaking on plans for the 2025 Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA), Dikko described the event as a landmark initiative to discover and nurture young talents from grassroots communities across Nigeria.
