Dr. Godwin Osawaru Osaigbovo, MBBS, M.Sc., FWACP, is a Reader in Medicine and Consultant Physician & Neurologist at the University of Jos, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos, Nigeria.
Dr. Godwin Osawaru Osaigbovo is a Consultant Physician and Neurologist with clinical, academic, and research expertise in stroke, neuroepidemiology, neurodegenerative disorders, neurophysiology, and neurological diseases. He is affiliated with Jos University Teaching Hospital and the University of Jos, where he contributes to clinical practice, undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, research, and supervision.
His research interests include stroke and intracerebral haemorrhage, post-stroke depression, post-stroke seizures, dementia, and the epidemiology of neurological and cardiovascular diseases. He has served as Principal Investigator in multicentre research projects, including the STARRS-GENOMICS study, and has contributed to advancing knowledge on the prevention and management of neurological disorders in Africa.
Dr. Osaigbovo is actively involved in professional medical organizations, research mentorship, and community service. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and continues to play a leading role in strengthening neurology education, research, and patient care in Nigeria and beyond.
