About the Department

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a leading hub of innovation and academic excellence under the Faculty of Engineering, University of Jos. We offer intensive, world-class undergraduate and postgraduate programs that are fully accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Overview & Academic Structure

The Departments runs a rigorous 5-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree program, structured on a unit course system. The programme focuses on high academic standards in electrical power systems and machines, electronics and telecommunications, and control and computer engineering.

It is fully accredited and recognized by COREN and aligned with professional bodies such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

Research & Faculty Highlights

Research Focus Areas: Artificial Intelligence, power systems studies and optimization, wireless communication systems, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning integration, energy management, and renewable energy integration.
