Dr. Olurotimi Awodiji holds M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Nigeria, and the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is a registered Engineer with the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

He has served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre, European University Institute, Florence, Italy, and is currently a Reader and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Jos, Nigeria.

With over 20 years of professional experience spanning both industry and academia, Dr. Awodiji has contributed extensively to advancing knowledge in power systems, renewable energy integration, and sustainable energy technologies. His work bridges theoretical research and practical applications, with a strong focus on energy transition, grid stability, and the role of emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and energy storage in modern power networks.
