UNIJOS PROMOTES 45 ACADEMIC STAFF TO PROFESSORS
Forty-Five (45) Academic Staff of the University of Jos have been promoted to the rank of Professors in different disciplines. The promotion, which took effect from 1st October, 2025, is the outcome of the Institution’s promotion exercise as considered and approved by the Appointment and Promotions Committee (Senior Staff), chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya.
Similarly, the University’s Appointments and Promotion Committee (Senior Staff) approved the promotion of Thirty-Two (32) Academic Staff from the rank of Senior Lecturers to Reader (Associate Professors) in different disciplines in the University with effect from 1st October, 2025
Announcing the outcome of the promotion exercisers, the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the University explained that those promoted followed the rigorous screening exercisers conducted by the Appointments and Promotion Committee. She congratulated all those that were promoted and charged them to continue to contribute more efforts in promoting quality research activities within the university for the advancement of humanity generally.
