Professor Makshwar Luka Kahansim, MBBS, FWACS, MPH, is a Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Jos and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos Nigeria.

Professor Kahansim obtained his MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1994, Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in 2009, and Master of Public Health (MPH) from Ahmadu Bello University in 2011.

His clinical and academic expertise lies in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a strong commitment to advancing maternal and reproductive health. Over the course of his career, Professor Kahansim has combined teaching, research, and clinical practice, contributing to the training of medical students and postgraduate specialists while improving patient care outcomes.

He continues to play a vital role in medical education, research, and service delivery, strengthening healthcare systems and advancing women’s health in Nigeria and beyond.
