Professor Amaka Ngozi Ocheke, B.Med.Sc, MBBS, M.Sc., MALD, FWACS, FMCOG Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Jos and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos, Nigeria
Professor Ocheke earned her B.Med.Sc in Physiology (1990) and MBBS (1995) from the University of Port Harcourt, M.Sc. in Reproductive Science from the University of Jos, and MALD in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos. She is a Fellow of both the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG).
Her clinical and research interests include infertility, reproductive endocrinology, adolescent gynaecology, and reproductive health. A dedicated clinician–researcher, she has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and supervised numerous postgraduate dissertations. She served as Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2016 to 2021 and continues to play a leading role in medical education and mentorship.
Professor Ocheke is also Editor-in-Chief of the Tropical Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Highland Medical Research Journal. She remains actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate training, contributing significantly to advancing reproductive health and medical scholarship in Nigeria and beyond.
