Professor Rose Edwin Daffi is a distinguished academic and professional engineer with expertise in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. Born on April 13, 1970, in Mangu, Plateau State, she holds a Bachelor and Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and a Ph.D. in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Her academic career began at Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, where she served for fourteen years, rising to Head of Department and later Dean of the School of Engineering. In 2014, she joined the University of Jos, where she has since held key leadership roles including Coordinator of Civil Engineering, Deputy Dean, and currently Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
Professor Daffi has participated in numerous international short courses and refresher programs in remote sensing, GIS, hydropower development, and water resources management, including training at UNESCO‑IHE Delft and the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Her research focuses on the application of geo‑information science in water resources and environmental management, leading to publications in reputable local and international journals.
She is a Registered Civil Engineer with COREN, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, where she serves on the Board of Fellows. She has also held leadership roles in professional bodies, including serving as Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Jos Branch (2011–2013).
Professor Daffi has received numerous awards from engineering institutions and professional associations in recognition of her contributions to engineering education, leadership, and community service. She continues to serve on boards and committees at church, community, professional, and governmental levels, reflecting her commitment to both academic excellence and societal development.
