Dr. Peter is a seasoned scholar and practitioner in Conflict Management, Peace Studies, and Gender Violence Research. His academic career reflects a strong commitment to advancing peace, justice, and security through teaching, research, and community engagement.
At the University of Jos, Dr. Peter has risen through the ranks from Lecturer II to Senior Lecturer (2023–date). He currently serves as Ph.D. Coordinator (2026–date) at the Centre for Conflict Management and Peace Studies, and has previously held roles such as Examination Officer (2018–2025) and member of the Curriculum Review Committee. He also facilitates postgraduate supervision at the National Open University of Nigeria and has contributed to training programs at the Foreign Service Academy (2022–2023).

His scholarship has contributed significantly to debates on peacebuilding, justice administration, social inequality, terrorism, and interreligious relations in Nigeria and Africa. He is also a co-editor of the book Socio-Economic Development and Environmental Sustainability in Nigeria (2019).
