Professor Simon Jekat Yiltok, MBBS, FMCS, FWACS is a Professor of Surgery (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery), University of Jos, Nigeria, Honorary Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH)

Professor Simon Jekat Yiltok is a distinguished surgeon and academic leader specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He earned his MBBS in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Jos in 1990, followed by the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in General Surgery (FMCS, 1999) and the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (FWACS, 2001). He further advanced his expertise through reconstructive microsurgery training in Taiwan.

Joining the University of Jos in 2000 as Lecturer I, Professor Yiltok rose steadily to the rank of Professor of Surgery. His career has been marked by significant leadership roles, including Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Founding Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at JUTH, and membership of both the Governing Council of the University of Jos and the JUTH Board of Management. He also serves on the Council of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

Professor Yiltok has played pivotal roles in professional associations, having chaired the Nigerian Medical Association (Plateau State) and the Nigeria Association of Plastic, Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgeons. He currently serves on the Boards of Trustees of several organizations. His academic contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications, extensive teaching and research, accreditation and examining responsibilities, and supervision of postgraduate trainees. He is presently the Sub-Specialty Lead for Plastic Surgery at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and actively participates in international professional collaborations.
