Profile: Christiana Best is a creative and accomplished journalism/media professional/academic and higher education administrator with over 25 years teaching, production and administrative experience in Nigerian tertiary education. She is a Professor of Development Communication, the pioneer Head of Department of Mass Communication, University of Jos and a former Rector of the National Film Institute - the premier Film School of Nigeria.  Her research interest includes participatory media, women’s empowerment and utilization of film, new media and traditional media in motivating attitudinal change, peace building, discouraging hate speech and promoting development through democracy and good governance as well as citizenship accountability. Her exceptional achievements in the Nigerian media industry, especially media training, have inspired many scholars, having earned respect locally and at the internationally from her peers and students. Prof. Best has the passion, competence and experience that are relevant for work and leadership in different institutions and organizations.
