PROF. DOMINIC ASADA Ph.D, B.L; A.C.T.I

Asada obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Maiduguri in 1985 and was called to the Nigeria Bar in October 1986. He did his National Youth Service in Port Harcourt in 1987. He commenced his teaching career as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Commercial Law, Faculty of Law University of Jos in June 1991. He has been Exams Officer and Deputy Dean of the Faculty at some points in time.

His teaching and research interest are in Commercial Law, Corporate Law and governance, Nigerian Taxation Law & Policy and International Taxation. He has published extensively in his areas of interests, in local and international journals. He has been an external examiner of postgraduate thesis and dissertations in many universities in Nigeria. He has also been External Assessor to Kampala International University of Uganda (KIU).  He has so far supervised twenty five (25) completed Ph.D thesis, with many ongoing, numerous Masters thesis and uncountable undergraduate projects.

He is a tax Consultant to some State Revenue Agencies in Nigeria on Tax policy, Law and Administration. He has acted as a tax reform Consultant to National Institute for Legislative and Democratic studies, National Assembly on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform.

He was a member of the Plateau State Committee on the reform of the Criminal law and Procedure in 2018, whose report gave birth to the present Plateau State Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2018 and the Plateau State Penal Code Law 2017.

He helped to set up the Faculty of Law Adamawa State University in 2023 while on leave of absence as the Dean of the Faculty.
