INTRODUCTION

The nucleus of the University of Jos Library was established in February 1972 when this institution remained the Jos Campus of the University of Ibadan, located along Murtala Mohammed Way on the temporary town-site of the University. This library has undergone significant extension to both its building and stock. The Library is located along Bauchi Road opposite the Federal College of Forestry Jos. It hosts the Library Administration, Documents, Cataloguing and Classification as well as the book finishing units. Collections here service Faculties of Education, Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences and Pharmacy. There are a Serials Section, Systems Unit, Reserved Books, and Circulation Sections. Naraguta Campus (sometimes called Permanent Site) Library houses the Social Sciences and Arts collections and is located on the Naraguta Campus along Zaria Road . Law Library is located on the Bauchi Road Campus and houses the law collections. It is adjacent to the Online Legal Research Library on the first floor of the Law Faculty. Medical Library provides services for the students and faculty members of Faculty of Medical Sciences. Located on the Township Campus along Murtala Mohammed Way , it has its own eGranary Digital Library version 2.0 to supplement the CD-ROM and hard copies of medical collection.
