Progress Report on The Activities of The Centre For Nomadic Education

INTRODUCTION:

A number of activities have been carried out in the University of Jos Nomadic Education Centre with the aim of achieving the mandate and objectives of establishing Nomadic Education University Centres in four Universities: University of Jos, Jos, Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, University of Maiduguri, and University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt.
The Centre has been trying to achieve the set goals of NCNE as well as carrying out assignments given by the Commission, attending and participating in all the activities and meetings invited to by the NCNE.
The Centre has also been fitting its activities into the University's Strategic, ICT, and Library Repository plans / efforts as the University Management ensures, monitors and encourages every sector of the University to achieve, excel and be relevant at the national and international academic spheres.
The whole idea of Nomadic Education in Nigerian originated from the Faculty of Education, University of Jos, as a research initiative in the early 80s with some key foundation participants: Professor Mary Lar and Professor C. Ezeoma, other Professors, Doctors and Lecturers within and outside of the University.
