ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR M.Phil/Ph.D:

To qualify for admission into the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme, a candidate must possess a good master’s degree in a subject relevant to his/her intended area of specialization. The quality of the Master’s degree as determined by the academic transcript must meet the standard stipulated in Regulation 44 (3) i.e. a Cumulative Score Average (CSA) of 60% and above and a score in project report of not below 60%.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR M.Sc.:

To qualify for admission into M.Sc. Applied Microbiology and Plant Pathology or M.Sc. Cytogenetic and Plant Breeding, a candidate shall possess a first Class or Second Class Upper Division honours degree in Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry or in related areas of Agriculture. In exceptional cases, candidates with 2nd Class Honours Lower division in the above subjects may be considered for admission. A degree in Botany, Forestry or Agriculture is required for M.Sc. Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding. For admission into M.Sc. Applied Microbiology and Plant Pathology, FIMLT (Microbiology or allied discipline like bacteriology), may be considered.
