DISCLAIMER ON FAKE LETTERS OF CONTRACT AWARD AND ACCEPTANCE

The attention of Management of the University of Jos has been drawn to fake Letters of Contract Award and Acceptance being paraded by one Messrs Mohiba Investment Limited claiming to have been awarded a Five Hundred Million Naira (N500m) contract for the construction of an Indoor Sports Hall at the Naraguta Campus of the University to be funded under the 2023 Disaster Recovery Intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund). 

The fake Letter of Award being paraded by the aforementioned Messrs Mohiba Investment Limited with a supposed Head office at Plot 404, Gwarzo Close, Off Gimbiya Street, Area 11, Garki, Abuja as well as other offices in Lagos and Kano, is said to have a thirty-two (32) week completion period and is purportedly signed by the University’s Acting Head of Procurement Unit. The fake Letter of Acceptance also addressed to the University’s Acting Head of Procurement Unit, was signed by one M. A. Jidda.

Management wishes to state categorically that the University of Jos is not in any way associated with the claims made by Messrs Mohiba Investment Limited and has not awarded any contracts to the company for the construction of an Indoor Sports Hall at the University’s Naraguta Campus. Any documents or letters purportedly signed by the University's Acting Head of procurement are fake and should not be considered legitimate.

The University of Jos firmly denies any involvement in the alleged contract award and advises the public to exercise caution when dealing with Messrs Mohiba Investment Limited in relation to any construction projects at the Institution as the University will not be held responsible for any fraudulent transactions conducted with the said company.

The University has already reported the matter to the relevant Security Agencies and urges members of the public to report any fraudulent activities or misrepresentations involving the University of Jos to the appropriate authorities.
