The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Sonni Tyoden has assured students of the University of security and hitch-free academic calendar.

Professor Tyoden gave the assurance during an interactive session with the students.  According to the Vice Chancellor, grey areas that were threatening the Academic Calendar have been sorted out.

The Vice Chancellor also told the students that the sale of handouts had been banned in the University. He assured them that better teaching aids and facilities would be provided to assist them in their academic pursuit.

While promising the students protection, the Vice Chancellor warned them against engaging in cult activities. He said that that anyone discovered to be harbouring non-students in the hostels would be punished. He cautioned them against truncating their educational pursuit by engaging in any anti-social activity that would bring sorrow and pain not only to themselves but also their parents.
